Racist Egg Nog
First off, bless archive.org. Yet again they've brought something wonderful *to my attention. First Reptiles and now southern cooking. I'm talking specifically about THE SOUTHERN COOK BOOK ᴼᶠ ᶠᴵᴺᴱ ᴼᴸᴰ ᴿᴱᶜᴵᴾᴱˢ.
Before I get to the recipe, I want to highlight that this book has both of the kinds of racism, the N-word kind and the "plant these lies in someone and they'll enslave themselves". Right underneath a recipe for Griddle Cakes is a song about ...you shall be free, When de good Lord sets you free. Yeah, not good.
This was definitely the rawest egg I've ever drank. † And it was delicious. I wasn't planning on spooning an entire 2 eggs into my mouth out of a coffee mug, but you know, life finds a way.
Later it occurred to me that eating raw eggs might not be safe, so I went to the one true stop for egg-info: AUSTRALIAN EGGS. They say "While it’s generally safe to consume raw eggs, there are very few reasons to do so", so I guess I'm good... I probably should have washed the shell at least though.
